Dear Brimhall Families,
Brimhall is an excellent school, where students from all over the world gather to study. We are in the midst of planning for next year, and as I have in past years, I am requesting that you allow our teachers to place next year’s students in appropriate, balanced classrooms. Our goal remains to differentiate instruction to students at all levels and to work as collegial groups that ensure our district vision of “Teaching and Learning for All.”
Once again, I am calling upon our teachers to place students into balanced, heterogeneous classrooms. In doing so, they will also take into consideration these three “filters”: effective instructional groups; peer relationships; and, equity. Our teachers spend a great deal of time working to create optimal learning environments for all students. It is important to us that every child has a learning environment that has been carefully considered.
We appreciate your faith and trust in us. It is in that spirit that I request that you allow us to professionally create classrooms that work for all students. If you hav an educational concern that we should take into consideration while we work through our process, please put those concerns in writing to me by FRIDAY, MAY 4TH. Since I may not be able to honor specific requests for teachers, please tell me about your child and their unique educational needs. We will work to match those needs with our need to balance classrooms, but we simply cannot promise that your child will be assigned to a specific teacher of your choice. Class lists for the upcoming school year will be available at Brimhall’s “Meet Your Teacher” event in the fall.
Brimhall is an educational environment of integrity, strength, and compassion. We work diligently to provide the best education possible for all students. We thank you for your understanding and confidence in allowing us to place students so that each student’s educational environment is also on e of integrity, strength, and compassion.
Educationally yours,
Penny Bidne
