Collaborative Teams...

The Roseville Area Schools functions as a Professional Learning Community.  As such, the district has invested in creating a wide range of collaborative teams whose purpose is to enhance student learning.  The DuFour model of Professional Learning Communities has at its core three questions...

What do we want students to know and be able to do?

How will we know if they have learned it?

What will do if they have not learned it?

The task for a collaborative team is to use these three questions to identify the outcomes for their students, the assessments that will be used to measure those outcomes, and the instructional strategies that will be used to initially provide the learning and to intervene when the learning does not occur.  Increases in student achievement will be seen when a collaborative team successfully engages the third question to continuously improve practice to ensure student learning.

Staff who are interested in an training in working in a PLC are encouraged to review the PLC materials located on PD360.
