The Roseville Area Schools Legislative Action Committee . . .
- Is a nonpartisan, school-board authorized committee established in 2007, that serves to inform, educate, and advise the School Board and community concerning legislative issues and matters affecting public education.
- Believes that a high-quality public education system is the cornerstone of our community and that stable and adequate funding sources are essential for providing quality educational programs.
- Gives parents and other community members a practical way to get involved in legislative issues and matters relating to our schools.
- Advocates for education-related legislative positions as developed and decided by the LAC (Legislative Action Committee) annually.
One of our local legislators, Representative Mindy Greiling, is the Minority Lead on the Education Finance Committee.
2011-2012 Meeting Schedule
LAC meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings (except where noted) from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on the following dates at Fairview Community Center.

2011 Legislative Action Committee Platform
The Roseville Area School board voted to approve the 2011 Legislative Platform presented to them by the district's Legislative Action Committee (LAC). The main components of the platform:
- Support the state fulfilling its constitutional mandate to provide a uniform, thorough, and efficient system of public school.
- Education of our children is a non-partisan issue.
- We ask that the legislature and governor cooperate
- To provide stable and adequate funding,
- Establish a non-partisan Education Research Center to provide "best practices" information to educators,
- Remove unfunded mandates, and
- Repay the state aid payment and property tax shifts from 2009-2010.
- Also recommended was support for educational programs that increase achievement for all children based on sound research.

Membership
The Roseville LAC membership strives to represent most schools and programs in the district. The committee is looking for members to represent Brimhall, Central Park, Edgerton, Falcon Heights, Little Canada, RAMS, and Fairview. The current members are:
